There was a certain measure of calm about quarterback Kevin Riley this spring. Riley worked as hard as he ever has during the spring, but at the same time seems to be at peace with football as much as he ever has.
The Register-Guard in Eugene and the Oregonian are reporting that Creighton”s Dana Altman has been hired as Oregon basketball coach.
Altman is 327-176 in 16 seasons at Creighton, and his teams have earned 13 consecutive postseason berths.

Offensive lineman Chet Teofilo has also signed a free agent contract with Dallas. Tucker has yet to sign his deal; he’s expected to on Sunday.

Former Cal cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson has been selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the NFL Draft (225th overall). This is a little later than most projections, although Thompson himself didn’t rule out the possibility of not getting drafted at all.
There are about 20 selections remaining. Offensive tackle Mike Tepper is the only other realistic possibility for a former Cal player to be drafted, although one recent mock draft had wide receiver Verran Tucker going late in the seventh round.
