Nineteen of Cal’s sports teams made improvements in the multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores released today by the NCAA. A minimum score of 925 is required to avoid possible penalties, including loss of scholarships. All of Cal’s teams met that minimum standard.
The basketball team climbed from 944 to 967 on the four-year score through the 2008-09 school year, biggest improvement of any Cal program. Mike Montgomery’s squad reported a one-year score of exactly 1,000, one of 10 Cal sports to score 1,000 or more for the most recently compiled single year.
Here’s how the Bears’ basketball team stacks up to the rest of the Pac-10:
School APR scores
