Football: Martin coverage

Here are a few stories about Chris Martin’s transfer to Florida:

  • My story, with quotes from Martin about making the Gators his choice.
  • This story says Martin would have committed to Florida earlier had defensive coordinator Charlie Strong not left for Louisville.
  • This includes an excerpt from Martin’s facebook page.

this guy needs to learn that not everything goes exactly according to plan in life. maybe they will teach him that at florida. or maybe he will transfer again. what a strange bird. glad he’s someplace else. hope for his sake, he gets some playing time.

I was listening to Roxy Bernstein’s radio show at lunch and someone called in about CM leaving. Roxy said he knows more than he could share, but that Cal is probably better of without him. Alluded to baggage that some 5 star guys can bring with them..

Time to move on past this “story.”

I agree. Martin did a lot for us recruiting-wise and we should be grateful. Without Martin, maybe we don’t get some of the other players. Without Martin at all, maybe we get a different OLB rush-player. Not worth speculating. We don’t know all that this kid has to deal with but I hope that he gets it all settled.

There are plenty of other kids that would love a chance to play for our Bears and someone will step in and fill the void. I must say I am impressed that Tedford’s integrity shines through once again. He handled the whole situation with the utmost amount of class. You can’t ask for more – let’s hope for a saltier defense and some great offense this year.

Roxy’s show is pretty good. At least, when he’s the one talking.
JJ is not a good radio personality and does not bring much to the show from a fans perspective and the mouth guy is pretty darn obnoxious.
Would be great to see Rox get his own show.
    I would listen everyday.
He also should be working for the A’s or Giants. Why don’t one of those teams pick him up? He’s really good.
    Nice work Roxy

Roxy’s cryptic comment speaks volumes. He usually plays things very close to the vest and is exceedingly respectful of recruits, players and coaches. The issues with CM are obviously over the top. And, yes, all things considered, Cal if very much the better for his departure. Just wish Tedford had taken this one at face value.
