10 different Bears caught at least one pass.

The CBS highlight “Best offense performers- UC Davis- Josh Reese- Rushing 9 carries 8 yards”
THAT SAYS IT ALL!

assuming no significant injuries, sounds like a successful day.

I wish Riley finished the first half stronger, but overall, a good showing. We’ll see how they do against the big boys.
One thing’s for sure – Keenan Allen is the real deal.

Grant High School would have beaten Davis state. Way to schedule the biggest patsie of the JT era.

#57 on your OL is horrible. His footwork looks like a very bad Dancing For Stars Contestant.
Your DL did not put pressure on the Davis QB

Great game by the D!

Yep. Overall the defense was extraordinary. Few tfls but pressure on almost every play. I was impressed. Special teams made me proud to be a bear as well. Can’t wait till next week!

I was happy with Riley – he had little to do other than allow his receivers to have field days. Would have liked Vereen to get 100+ yards, but resting the starters early to avoid pouring it on was class.
Our defense was excellent. Yes, only 2 sacks, but that didn’t change the fact that it was quite strong.
UC Davis obviously is not D-1A material (which makes it so sweet that they beat the Furd in 2005) but, unlike a team reeling from sanctions that got completely lit up on Thursday night, including two TDs by a third-string QB, we took care of business.
Colorado had a solid game today, which is going to make it not a rollover

the pac10 is LOADED this year. except for U$C, whose victories and losses do not count.
September 4th, 2010 at 6:02 pm
Will our win over USC this year count as a victory for us?
September 4th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
yep. win or lose. that’s the beauty of it.
September 4th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
You’re right Eric – Davis is going to have a more meaningful football season than $C!

I wish USC played better this weekend. I think Lane Kiffin and his boys are the weak link this year along with Wazzu. Every other Pac-10 team had a decent debut. Big wins and close losses to very good opponents. With the exception of USC. They let the Rainbow Warriors put up 36 on them.
Good thing they have a couple more pansy out of conference games. Then they start Pac-10 play with the Cougs. Maybe they’ll have a real secondary by that time to keep the from getting torched by Sark and Locker.

We’ll know more after the Colorado game. They are a D-I opponent that looked good in their first game. They have a couple of corners who are NFL prospects and a left tackle that is a top prospect.
Cal looks deep on the D-line. The red-shirt freshman D’Andre Coleman looks like a player, 6′ 6″ and strong as a bull.
Something wrong with Matt Summers-Gavin, or did he get beat out?

I thought Beau Sweeney showed real, promise during his playing time in the 2nd half. Not that he is ready for prime time yet, but he has the tools and the ability to be a starter and a leader. I especially liked the way he scrambled for some good yardage gains.

i was actually a little concerned with him. i thought he scrambled way too often. he blew through his reads, then ducked and ran. in fairness, though, he was forced to run, run pass, as you have to do when you’re blowing someone out, so davis knew what was coming by then, and he still made it work. i think he’s got a long way to go, though. riley looked better the first time he took snaps, and look at him 5 years later. still unable to handle modest pressure. i think austin hinder is the qb of the future. they should start grooming him now.
