Football: Mohamed update

By Jonathan Okanes

LB Mike Mohamed didn’t practice again today and is still in a boot. He says it’s still just precautionary. He hopes to practice tomorrow and says he’ll be “good to go” for the game. Jeff Tedford also reiterated that Mohamed will play, that the team is just being cautious because of the short week of practice.

I smell slight cover-up. I’d like Mohamed to actually practice due to the short week.

There are only 3 players on this team I’m completly fine with missing practice; Marv, Anger and Mikey Mo. Take it easy, he can still take mantel reps in practice.

This doesn’t worry me in the slightest. Besides, Tedford isn’t one to actively mislead a situation; if Mohammed were seriously injured, he’d say something.

To wit: remember when Fall camp began and Vereen had his hamstring issue and didn’t practice for a couple of weeks? Everyone on these boards was crying cover-up, they were certain the issue was much more dire than Tedford indicated.

We all see how that unfolded. This is just everyone being overly cautious with one of the best defensive players to make sure he’s fully recovered from the short week.

    Go Bears!
