I have mixed feelings about the new scout team policy. I wonder if the benefit to the first team is negated by the second team being overburdened with the other team’s defensive schemes in addition to their own, as our back-ups haven’t looked that sharp.
J.O., do you know where Tedford took his inspiration from? Do other big time programs engage in something similar?

David there is no downside. The only reason our second team was playing was because it was a blowout and we were playing uc davis/colorado. Dont expect much if any playing time for our second unit anytime soon. Our 1st teamers will be on the field the whole time with occasional 1 play breathers to backups.

David, good question. I haven’t asked him where he got the idea, but my guess is it must go on in other places.
