I picked up two more preseason basketball preview magazines this week and Washington is the consensus choice to win the Pac-10 title. No surprise there. The Huskies are the choice of The Sporting News, Lindy’s and Athlon.
Cal is tabbed No. 6 by TSN and Athlon, No. 9 by Lindy’s.
It’s worth pointing out, as detailed by The Sporting News, that coach Mike Montgomery has had 11 consecutive finishes of third place or better in the conference — the past two seasons at Cal and his final nine at Stanford. It doesn’t guarantee these Bears a thing, but it’s a cool factoid.
Here are the full picks of the three magazines:
TSN Lindy’s Athlon
1. UW UW UW
2. UCLA Ariz Ariz
3. Ariz UCLA UCLA
4. WSU ASU ASU
5. ASU USC WSU
6. Cal WSU Cal
7. OSU OSU OSU
8. USC Stan Stan
9. Stan Cal USC
10. Ore Ore Ore

if 6 gets us to the tourney, i’m cool with 6. 12 seed would be ideal.

I can’t wait for bball season. As much as I love watching football, it just doesn’t compare to going to the bball games. A quick pitcher or two at the bears lair, then getting into the great Haas.
Can’t wait!

Is that what we send our best and brightest to college for?
Geez… The future of America is in bad shape.

As for me, I’ll take a couple BIG recruits before worrying about any preseason polls. This season is all about developing our new core recruits, and getting a BIG or two.

Gee, touchy touchy.
Can’t we at least have enough dignity to strike the band while the ship goes down?
