I remain skeptical this team will finish higher than 8th place in the Pac 10. We could go as far as 9th.

  • Grrrrrah

I, for one, and growing SO VERY TIRED of all constant pessimism and negativity toward Cal. It’s only the fourth game of the season for crying out loud. Nobody knows who is capable of what, especially now that we’re starting conference play.

Look, I don’t expect all sunshine and rainbows here, but the continued dread and gloom isn’t what our team needs. GldnBear71, please keep your utter lack of faith in our team to yourself. Better yet: Stanfurd has a brand new website and I’m sure they’d welcome you with open arms.

    Go Bears!!

  • Bears

Losers are mentally weak and expect to lose.
I’m excited to see if our Bears can pull the upset tonight.
Can’t wait to see what happens this year in the Pac 10.
    Go Bears!

    Grrrrrah -

Who made you the keeper of who can post what opinions here? Seriously. You’re wanting to censor people that have opinions that don’t agree with yours?

GldnBear71 is stating how he feels, which I think is still OK in this country- isn’t it? He isn’t attacking anyone or any group of people that don’t agree with his opinions, like you are. What gives you the right to do that? To tell people that you don’t agree with to go away? And to go to a Stanford site… nice.

You should stay on your side of the fence and show some class, as all Cal fans should. I would hope that would distinguish us from many others. Attacking others isn’t the way to do that.

What’s interesting here is that if you happen to criticize/critique Tedford here, and there’s a LOT of people doing so, a few dissenters come out of the woodwork to personally attack those people directly. Ironic.

You said it yourself- you’re growing “SO VERY TIRED of all constant pessimism and negativity toward Cal.” Then why would you come to this forum when you know that a LOT of Cal fans are frustrated with Cal’s recent performances in their losses the past few years? Perhaps you should look in the mirror first and consider taking your own advice.

  • Hungry

I’m tired of fans criticizing fans, as if criticizing Tedford and company isn’t enough.

Oops … I’m doing the same thing – ha ha ha

Let’s just enjoy the game tonight. Here’s to a victory and injured-free game. Win or lose, they’re still my Bears.

  • Shawn

Go Bears! Save the armchair coaching for Sunday.

  • Bears07

No need to turn blog comments into constitutional rights arguments. We come here because we’re fans and we like JO’s reporting. We read the comments to see feedback relevant to the analysis/links posted. We’re disappointed that so many of our team’s fans don’t have the unbridled optimism that we do.

Want to call me naive? Go ahead. But I will cheer for this team week in and week out. I know we have the talent to beat an AZ team, so I’m sure we have the chance…that’s why sports games are played! The team (and the fans) don’t need me to proclaim defeat before they’ve even had their first chance to tackle the opponent each week. That’s up to the players and coaches to decide (through their actions on the field).

  • Bears07

To be fair, we can also do with a little less name calling. Last I checked, we’re all adults here (unless you’re that 16 year old kid from my calculus class back in the day…then you get a pass!)

  • MoreNCsarecoming

After the ZONA beatdown tonight the fan base will become even more irritable, argumentative and shallow. Don’t look now but PUCLA just beat Texas. Your team is headed for 9th and maybe 10th because WSU at Pullman could take you guys down.

  • eric

UCLA demonstrated today that when something is working, don’t go away from it. They ran, and ran, and ran, and ran (17 times straight at one point) and just beat down Texas, and Texas. I guess UCLA isn’t a gimme now, but sure is nice seeing that prostitute Brown suffering. And hopefully we took note that iof Vereen et al. are gaining 5 yards per carry, there is absolutely nothing wrong with running again, again, and again.

  • MoreNCsarecoming

Let me raise the unspeakable. Harbaugh has Stanford looking great and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win the Pac 10. I am pulling for them. How did they do it before your team after just as many dismal years as you guys had.

It is coaching. I agree with Dan.

  • Tdogg

MoreLossesAreComing, I don’t like saying this but Stanfurd will give your $C a major beatdown this year. Just watch. That win over the doormat Wazzu doesn’t mean jack. And don’t forget $C is going to the Toilet Bowl this year. Haha.

  • covinared

is it ok to start popping the pre game beers?

  • Dan

    Ondal & Nickle-

Thanks, you both prove my point. Calling me names… really nice. As is often said, name callers are usually EXACTLY what they call other people- I’ll leave it at that.

Also, if you guys got your stories straight, maybe you would have some credibility. I have NEVER EVER said that Tedford should be fired. In fact, I don’t think he should be, not by a long shot- I even posted that within the past couple of days- but I guess that’s not relevant to either of you.

So go ahead, find one post of mine where I said Tedford should be fired. I challenge either of you to find that post – go ahead, you won’t. Yet, you both tell me that’s what I am on here saying. You guys call me a jerk? Wow.

  • nickle

1st, Dan, I never called you any names. My apologies if it came off that way. I don’t even know what Ondal said since his comments have been deleted. I’d explain my position from before but my comment has been deleted.

2nd, to J. Okanes, I’d like you to explain why my comment was deleted. Also, if you’re going to have a comment policy I’d like you to make it absolutely clear and stick by it 100%. Otherwise this board loses all credibility as a place for discussion.
