Football/basketball: Pac-12 realignment plans to be unveiled on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

The new-look Pac-12 will be unveiled Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in a San Francisco press conference with commissioner Larry Scott. He will officially announce the new alignment — with Cal & Stanford expected to join the Oregons and Washingtons in the North — along with details on football championship game, basketball tournament, etc.

The press conference will be carried live on www.pac-10.org, powered by Ustream.

Wow. Now this is exciting. Although I am not for the geographic splitting. Would this mean we don’t play the LA schools? Or any of the new teams? If that’s the case this is a downgrade to the conference we had. I don’t anticipate us playing in many football title games.

Wow, will this mean that we won’t get worked by USC every year?

Rand – we only get worked by USC until they are caught cheating – then we win by forfeit. Yes we suck at football and may not be good at ball either this year, but at least we continue running a clean program.

I still wish we had gotten Texas and Texas A&M but oh well.
