Desean Jackson didn’t really have off the field issues, he never was arrested or involved in some scandal, he just wasn’t a great teammate.

But in general, I would never want to bring in more talented players if they come with a lot of baggage. That sends the message that on the field results are significantly more important than results in the classroom. Tedford has built a program that stays in line with respecting Cal as primarily an academic institution. Anything else would be demeaning to the schools reputation.

Cal isn’t Oregon or USC and should never run “thug” programs.

Good to see us ranked 25 in one of the rankings. We’ve got to keep bringing in top guys. I know I’m in the minority on this, but I’d rather take a super talented guy with “off the field” questions like Desean Jackson over a pretty good player with a great head on his shoulders.

Hopefully this guy can be a great player and great on the field. Best of luck to Jalen. Good football name by the way.

these are exactly the kinds of guys we need. seems like he’s got a good head on his shoulders, and can see the obvious benefits of the cal program.
