Hell he is our offense. But I wanted him to go and get paid. The guy has been a warrior for Cal and next year will be tough on him if he doesn’t leave now. I’m not sure there is anything for him to prove so just professionally speaking it is best for him to go in the draft.

BUT, with this work stoppage looming it is a tough deal. How does that affect whether he stays or goes, I don’t know. Saban has been telling kids to be careful and think through the consequences. So now I’m not so sure that is the best thing for Shane.

On the flipside if he STAYS next year’s class will be loaded (not only with up and coming players but also with those kids that didn’t go early because of the work stoppage). It’s a little bit of a lose-lose situation in terms of best case scenario. But really getting paid to do what you love is always a win-win.
