I have a text message into CCSF sophomore guard De’End Parker to confirm the story reported by the SF Chronicle that he has de-committed to Cal and given a verbal to UCLA.
Will let you know when I here from him.

You know what, if UCLA offers…you go. Wish the kid came to Cal but that’s life.
Luckily the reverse is true for football.

Montgomery/Bay Area vs Howland/LA? Is that really a tough decision?

Are you kidding me?
Nothing good comes from getting on line when you can’t sleep.

Is this De’End to Cal’s 2012 resurgence towards the top of the Pac?

This was sad news when I read it yesterday,
Today? In a sense, I say GOOD.
Now Monty is going to unearth some huge center for us – if not this year then next.
We’ll have to hope that Cobbs will be able to help Smith at PG, and that Rossi will be able to stretch defenses along with Crabbe. And that between Crabbe (learning) and Cobbs, one of them will be able to take folks off the dribble consistently. In other words, it was getting crowded on the perimeter, but we are still bare on the inside.

I am bummed about this, but everyone has to go to the college that they want to. While I think that Cal is the best place on earth, others are free to disagree. Good luck, De’end.

Can’t wait for Cal to play the UCLA’s next year. Jorge will put it to De’End.
