Former Cal defensive end Cameron Jordan really didn’t have to do anything at Pro Day. He appears to be firmly entrenched somewhere between No. 10 and 20 in the NFL draft. All participating today could really do is hurt his stock. He doesn’t stand much of a chance to improve it much more.
So Jordan didn’t participate in any of timed tests — he did them at the NFL combine and did quite well. He did do some position drills, including some linebacker stuff.
Jordan was his usual effusive self when he met with the media afterward. Here is some of what he had to say:
On what he got out of Pro Day:
“I came out to Pro Day for a work day. Everything I do I can get better at. Today we tried some new drills that I’ve never done before. Today they asked me to do some linebacker drills. I’ll do anything. If they asked me to do some DB drills, I’d do some 360 turns as well. It was a fun experience.”
On not running the timed tests:
“I was pretty happy with my Combine results. I did the best that I could do in everything that I did. I came out here today just trying to show off my footwork.”
On his reaction to being projected so high in mock drafts:
“That’s just what it is – a mock draft. It’s not April 28 yet. For all I know, I could fall out or go up or stay the same. I try not to pay attention to it. All I can handle is what I do every day. I wake up every day and work as hard as I can.”
On the weirdest questions he received during Combine interviews:
“Are you a dog or a cat? I guess I’m a dog because I chase after the ball. What do green and yellow have in common? They’re colors.”
