I’m concerned about Smith being able to defend Jio here in the early going off that pick and roll. Looks like Jio might be able to figure an angle there with his quickness as Kamp steps out to hedge off the Vucevich screen.
I’ll be watching how that play develops… Jio looks quick.

I have a feeling Allen Crabbe goes off in his hometown in front of friends and family. Given he missed the last $C game, and it was a 3 pt loss, he’ll be the difference. Go Bears!

i think this game comes down to how well u$c shoots the open 3. they’ll have plenty of chances against our zone.

Rico — My guess is Cal will play a lot of zone against USC precisely for that reason: Who guards Vucevic? If you play man, you risk foul trouble and Cal doesn’t have the depth to handle that. I could see Monty mixing in a few possessions of man-to-man defense here and there to keep the Trojans off balance, but Cal probably matches up better with this opponent using mostly zone. We’ll see.

I read that as Monty DID talk about it. He said we probably don’t get in and gave a few reasons for that (needed more wins and conference not very strong).
What were you hoping for, his bracket of 64, including last 4 in and first 4 out?
At 17 or 18 and 13, there really isn’t a discussion.
