Despite a report, Cal women’s basketball coach Joanne Boyle says she has not left the Bears.
The report, by ‘wbballhoopscoop’ on Twitter, says Boyle has left Cal to take the vacant job at Virginia.
Boyle, who is at the Final Four in Indianapolis, did not respond to a phone call. But she did release a statement through Cal’s media relations department saying: “I am not the Virginia head coach.”

That doesn’t exactly provide a lot of reassurance, does it? How about a “I am not going to be the next Virginia head coach.” Or “I am going to remain Cal’s head coach”?

I think Boyle sticks it out at Cal for a number of reasons. I mean she passed on the Duke job and this is the West Coast and most people that experience don’t go back by choice.

She’s got a big time player coming in from BHS and her team is loading up for next year. I don’t think she’s going anywhere.

So, where was the follow up report that she’s gone?
Must I search elsewhere?
