Football: Sweeney to transfer
By Jonathan Okanes

Quarterback Beau Sweeney is transferring out of the program, Jeff Tedford said tonight.
This obviously doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Sweeney is not one of the three finalists for the starting job.
“He’s a backup here and he wants a chance to play,” Tedford said. “He’s a great kid and we love him. We wish him all the best.”
Tedford said he’s released Sweeney from his scholarship. He said Sweeney is looking to transfer to an FCS school so he can play this season.

Not surprising but that’s a tough one. Sweeney’s grandfather was Tedford’s coach at Fresno. Hope the kid does well and succeeds.

Maybe he can go to CW Post and rip it up like Perry Klein did in the early 90s. And then again, maybe not.

Hope he gets to play and does well wherever he goes.
