Football: Ross to Patriots, Edwards to 49ers

Former Cal wide receiver Jeremy Ross said in a text message tonight that he is joining the New England Patriots.

Since the NFL isn’t allowing undrafted free agents to sign until Tuesday, Ross isn’t officially under contract as of yet. But that’s expected to happen tomorrow.

Former OL Donovan Edwards, meanwhile, tweeted that he is heading to the 49ers.

I also received a text message from former CB Darian Hagan, who as of earlier this evening hadn’t heard from any teams yet.

  1. Jeremy Ross is very deserving of this free agent opportunity with the Pats. I will always remember him for his high-hurdling over would-be-tacklers and his catch and run against WSU for a first down to help save the game. Here are some videos that are worth watching.
