I don’t understand why someone like Briggs can’t be converted to full back. If he’d learn and be willing to block, we’d have another viable running option like back in the days of Manderino and Storer instead of the walk on block only guys we have now. Some great usc tailbacks started out as fullbacks and waited their turn. Blocking skills are needed to make it in the nfl as well.

Watching the interview clips after practice over on calbears.com Tedford look much more relaxed than he ever has. I’ve always been a bit concerned about Tedford’s rigidness and how the team can pick up on that. I’m hopeful his new demeanor translates to the team. When the team is loose and things go awry, it’s easier to adjust instead of break.

I don’t understand the injury concerns. Does rugby incur this many injuries? No. Does rugby have 105 players out on the field doing drills every day? No. A couple minor injuries aren’t a big deal. It happens.

Does the rugby team incur this many injuries on a relative basis? Seems like every day, 3-5 more guys go down. I thought the new strength and conditioning coach was supposed to be awesome. Maybe it’s just bad luck.
