Basketball: Solna game video highlights

Here is a link to a Youtube video of highlights from Cal’s win over the Solna Vikings on Sunday in Stockholm, the Bears’ first game on their Scandanavian tour.

Cal’s game Wednesday vs. the Norwegian national team in Oslo, Norway is just getting under way. The Bears’ starting lineup, according to a John Montgomery tweet: Allen Crabbe, Justin Cobbs, Brandon Smith, Richard Solomon and Harper Kamp.

Sounds like Kamp’s achy knee is feeling better, but Jorge Gutierrez’s ankle sprain may not be ready.

Update: Cal leads 24-12 at the end of the first quarter.

Halftime: Cal trails 37-36, meaning the Bears were outscored 25-12 in the second quarter. John Monty reports via twitter that Norwegian zone defense is causing trouble. I’m guessing Arizona and Washington will play somewhat tougher defense.

End of 3rd Qtr: Norwegians lead 56-49.

i noticed that the game vs. norway today is free. totally open to the public. that’s pretty cool. sounds like monty has his work cut out for him getting these guys to play his brand of defense.

What is the level of competition?

  • Uh Huh!

    Hey Jeff:
Where are you getting your information.
    I want to follow, too!

  • Uh Huh!

Okay, I have to admit that I feel too old to understand what’s so great about things like Facebook and Twitter, but I have been sifting thru John Montgomery’s Twitter, which has links to a “Lokerz” photo page detailing their trip thru Europe so far, and I would like to say that this kid is building some good will with this Cal Fan as a One Man Media Machine.

It’s kinda lame that someone on the bench has to fulfill this role for such an immense and prestigious institution as Cal, but at least he’s doing it!

Something as basic and intimate as a photo of the box score for the Uppsala game is awesome. Like, that’s what we’d be looking at if we were there!
