Basketball: USC point guard Fontan to undergo season-ending knee surgery

A coach’s worst nightmare: Take an offseason exhibition trip to a foreign country and lose your best player for the season.

USC senior point guard Jio Fontan, who led the Trojans into the NCAA Tournament last season, will have season-ending surgery to repair a ligament he tore in his left knee Tuesday in Brazil.

  1. USC was gonna suck this year anyway….with or without him. Wouldn’t be surprised if he purposely aggravated his injury just to avoid being associated with the inevitable.
