Leading start to finish, Cal improved to 3-1 on its exhibition tour of northern Europe with an 81-73 victory over the Danish national team Saturday in Copenhagen.
Senior guard Jorge Gutierrez, who missed the first three games on the trip due to an ankle sprain, was in the starting lineup and scored 13 points. Junior walkon center Robert Thurman had another strong game with 21 points. Sophomore forward Richard Solomon sat out after apparently having his eye scratched, according to a twitter feed from assistant coach John Montgomery.
Freshmen forwards David Kravish and Christian Behrens each scored 10 points, as did sophomore guard Justin Cobbs, all three coming off the bench. Brandon Smith contributed nine points and Allen Crabbe scored six.
Senior forward Harper Kamp, who was nursing a sore knee when the team left the U.S., scored two points in limited playing time.
The Bears, coming off a loss to the Norwegian national team on Wednesday, led 21-11 at the quarter, 43-38 at the half and 59-52 after three periods.
