I have to disagree that Tedford is under pressure. The pressure starts when Cal football returns to Memorial. He gets a 20 month pass because of the tree sitters and not bolting during construction.

Yep. I totally agree with that, Milo. He may even get 2 years at the new stadium if we improve this year and next. And with the talent we have, there’s no reason we shouldn’t. I do hope we hit bottom last year. Kind of a double bottom, but whatever. Go Bears!

Treggs looks like a promising WR for us. Incredible hands. Good routes. Very quick. Only criticism would be not a lot of breakaway speed and this strange “happy feet” thing on every snap. As a junior though, wow.

Rivals didn’t include Cal’s (in my opinion) top recruit: Kenny Walker. For whatever reason, recruiting services consistently downgrade Northern Californian recruits. Aaron Rodgers, M.J. Drew, Tom Brady…these players weren’t ranked that high on national scouting services and they turned out to be OK. There are many more, those are just the extreme (top 2 players in football at any level period are from NorCal) but in general, scouting services severely downplay NorCal recruits. If anyone noticed Viliami Moala was ranked 7th best DT by ESPN in 2011. While that is a high grade no doubt, anyone want to bet me that he gets drafted to the NFL either as the top or 2nd DT from that class? In other words, I’m very happy that Kenny Walker is a Bear, more so than any other player we’ve got (save Kline) so far.

There is always pressure to win.
Tedford needs to get his offense going starting with QB, Coach M has to get that OL and TE group performing and if they do this, the team will be solid.
Every year is a new year and every year at Cal the coach is expected to win.
I hope Tedford and his QB group are ready to perform starting Saturday!
