The Pac-12 office has announced it will not further expand. The conference’s presidents and chancellors reaffirmed their preference to remain a 12-team conference. So much for those road trips to Austin…

Good! It’s bad enough that our conference is tainted with cheaters like Oregon and U$C, who the hell wants Texas!

Yes, there is a road trip to Austin. Home and Away with Texas ’15 and ’16.

It would be ridiculous to have teams from Texas in the “Pac”-12.

Great news. Wonderful news.
We don’t need the TexASS and Okie schools.
The Pac-8 was perfect: Washington, Oregon, California.
Bringing in Arizona was a big stretch.
Then,Colorado and Utah … weird to keep the “Pac” in the name.
It ought to be the West-12, not the Pac-12.

Because Texas was too greedy (per usual, not too many good things come from that place, anyone remember Enron?) the expansion talk is over. However I feel this isn’t a dead horse just yet. I find it hard to believe other teams in the Big 12 are not upset with Texas and will still try to be leaving the horrific Big12 conference.

Texas is still making demands we won’t accept, and Oklahoma still has hope of keeping the Big-12 alive. If Texas is willing to be one of 16, and Texas/OU come as a part of a four-team package, there will be a Pac-16.

Texas had their change. They blew it with their greed. I’m glad the pac12 is sticking to their guns. Don’t mess with texas.

It’s inevitable that there will be conference expansion…The Big 12 is doomed for extinction as long as Texas gets to keep the vast majority it makes from their “Longhorn network”. So, for all you traditionalists….the Pac-8 gave way to the Pac-10 which gave way to Pac-12 which will give way to the Pac-16 which will give way to Pac-18. When that happens…the pac-16 or 18 will need programs like Oklahoma and Texas to make it strong. Adding San Diego St., BYU, Fresno St., Nevada, Boise St. just will create a weak conference that garnishes little respect nationally…For the Pac 12 to add Oklahoma and Texas as members would create a conference with 3 traditional powers (USC, OKlahoma and Texas) and make the Western conference strong enough to keep top High School talent in the west.

Schools like Texas should be regarded as ticking time bombs. There used to be a great Southwest Conference with all the Texas schools plus Arkansas. They blew that up. Then, the Big 8 became the Big 12, & now they are blowing that up. If Texas & the others came in to the Pac conference, they would be temporary destabilizing factors, just looking to make a better deal elsewhere. The Pac 12 made a wise decision to not pursue Texas/Oklahoma expansion, & needs to stick to that decision.
