Football: Sunday quick hitters

By Jonathan Okanes
Sunday, October 9th, 2011 at 4:28 pm in Football, upcoming game.

For the second straight week, Sunday is like Tuesday for the Bears as they prepare for Thursday’s game against USC on ESPN. A few quick nuggets before a more thorough report later:

  • As expected, CB Marc Anthony didn’t practice. He dislocated his shoulder against Oregon. Jeff Tedford said Anthony is day to day.
  • DE Trevor Guyton didn’t practice as well. No further info on his injury right now is available.
  • Assuming Anthony doesn’t play, freshman Stefan McClure will start. Defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast said the third corner would be either true freshman Kam Jackson, redshirt freshman Adrian Lee or junior Josh Hill, who will continue to be the nickel back as well.
  • Thursday’s game is a near sellout, with only limited view or obstructed seats available at this point.

More to come….

Thank USC for your only sell out this year.

Why did Desmond Bishop announce SF City College as his school on ABC tonight? At least Gonzalez said Cal.

As for Cal itself I wasn’t sanguine about this season but people on here would get upset at my comments- now most of them sound way worse than I did.

Its always fun to watch Aaron Rodgers -wish he’d do some promos for Cal Football (if he were allowed to do such)

Don’t forget DeCoud. He gave Cal props.
    With TD there’s a Bear starting on O & D
    for both teams.
I gotta good feeling the young guys on
both sides of the ball are going to make
    a breakthrough.

Tedford as AD. Bring in boises coach to run our football program. Or another similar guy.
