Basketball: Cal recruiting target looking at KU

Center Landen Lucas of Westview HS in Portland will make an unexpected recruiting trip to Kansas this weekend before deciding on a school, Scout.com is reporting. Lucas was thought to be choosing between Cal and Washington, but the Jayhawks could complicate things.

Definitely won’t play freshman year at Kansas, regardless of what they tell him.

I don’t care how good the basketball team is – who would want to go live in Kansas?

Betcha KU convinced the kid he’s a one-and-done and KU is the best option.

Kansas only has one post player on the roster, they need a backup then will recruit over Lucas next year. Losing the kid to Arizona hurt them.
Hopefully Lucas knows he is a stop gap at Kansas and he will be a bench warmer in his junior and senior years
