Agree with everyone that this was a hard fought game on both sides—stanford showed they are truly not deep in many positions…but they had enough to win…bears had to be much more aggressive in the red zone when you’re on the road…big difference between tedford and chip kelly..that is why oregon will win the pac 12…we are still waiting for a competitive bears team that can win big games (and i dont just mean the Big Game)…monty did it in his first year as cal’s bb coach…i think we need a change in direction if we ever will compete for the pac 12 football championship.

Cal played Stanfurd straight up. No Shame. They’re ranked at 9, likely to go higher.

They do have a great run defense and shut Cal down, which put the pressure on the passing game. Maynard played well. Next year will be different.

There is no question the refs were slanted toward stanford tonight. Not sure why they are allowed to continue to get away with such terrible work. They were drooling all over luck and acted unprofessional in their biased calls. You have to call the game the same both ways. Do your job pac 12!
Can’t just blame the officials though. Bears came to play and brought it but good teams win games like this one.
California program must be hell bent on finishing strong in these next two games and then fighting all off season to get that Axe back in 2012 and be big winners overall!

The refs looked absolutely horrible today and were obviously trying to protect the ‘furd. The bad reffing pretty much gave ‘furd the edge today.

I really think the P12 needs to do something about these refs as their calling have been making the difference in the outcome of games.

Coming into this game the knock on the turds defense was they lack speed and athleticism and seeing our receivers get open time and time again, it was clear that this defense is vulnerable in space. Our solution? run the ball up the middle over and over on first down for no gainers or even better negative yardage. Brilliant! Once again, just like last week’s game, the scoreboard is very misleading. This game could have and should have been a blow out win by the turds if only their overrated, though still pretty good, QB hit at least half of his wide open receivers and if his wide open receivers didnt drop so many balls. we dodged a lot of bullets in this game. We are not going ANYWHERE with this coaching staff, that is the bottom line.

O as for the referees, Scott has a long way to go on that one. One does not need to look any further than these two game, Cal v turds and ore v ‘sc, to realize what an incompetent group of idiots we have as officials. the oregon/sc game was particularly special. they called an obvious miscommunication between Barkley and Woods (Barkley threw it out on the flat, while woods took inside slot? an intentional grounding, UNHEARD OF, and they followed that up with a TD call when the oregon receiver was not even close to making the TD catch on the play, haha, it was special watching these guys work, even Kirk couldnt stop laughing about that one. talk about making a mockery of the conference on national tv.

How many times has Isi been shut down for no game running up the middle inside the 10 yard line? Yet, Jeff keeps calling it. It took a whole season to see Maynard finally roll out near the goal line, and he came up with a great play. Where has that play been all year? The option to run or throw inside the five?

I should give props to the players. The refs had a poor game, as usual. Very unbalanced calls on the roughing fouls. But Tedford just can’t drive the bus anymore. It’s like the players have to win in spite of him. I still can’t believe he sat on the ball to close the first half when Stanfurd would get the ball after the break, up one, while he has two great WRs.

I am at a total loss, and frustrated as usual after sitting through yet another loss where the players performed well enough to win, but seemed to be lead by an apathetic head coach.

Great effort by the players on both sides of the ball. I wish I could say the same for the coaching. Had we scored a TD instead of settling for FGs we maybe would not have come up short. But when it comes to going for TDS on the road, Tedford just doesn’t get it. You only win on the road against good teams by scoring TDs! It is really simple. Settling for 29 yd FGs or whatever will not win tough road games. Tedford will not go for it on 4th down until it is too late. Great play by many players wasted tonight, Maynard, Sofele, Anderson, Kendricks, etc. I wish Tedford wanted to score TDs more. We lost by 3, a TD is +4 vs a fg, we just needed 1 TD on either of those 1st half fg drives. ugghh. Beat the devils. Go Bears.
