Basketball: The Pac-12 goes 0-for-2 on Friday; News is worse for ASU’s Jahii Carson

Arizona State freshman point guard Jahii Carson, expected to provide the Sun Devils a huge lift this season, was ruled ineligible Friday by the NCAA.

Elsewhere, it was another big night for the Pac-12 — two home defeats . . .

   — Idaho 74, Oregon State 60: Deremy Geiger, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound senior guard, made 7 of 9 shots from 3-point range and scored 27 points, lifting the Vandals (5-4) past the Beavers (6-2) in Corvallis. Pac-12 scoring leader Jared Cunningham shot 0 for 9 from the field and scored seven points.

   — Wyoming 65, Colorado 54: Spencer Dinwiddie scored 16 points, but the Buffaloes (5-4) shot 39 percent and the Cowboys (9-1) snapped Colorado’s 27-game non-conference home win streak.

No Pac12 team has beaten a ranked team all year according to CBS. Washington is getting a chance to at Madison SQ Garden when it takes on Duke but chances are slim for the Huskies.
