Basketball: Bears hope Solomon back for Pac-12

Coach Mike Montgomery issued a statement this morning on the status of Richard Solomon, suggesting the sophomore forward could be back on the court in time for the Bears’ Dec. 29 Pac-12 opener against USC.

Solomon sustained a stress fracture or stress reaction to his left foot and will miss Monday night’s game against UC Santa Barbara and the Bears’ game Friday at UNLV. He will be evaluated in the meantime.

“Unfortunately, Richard will miss the next couple of games due to this injury,” said Montgomery. “We hope to have him back on the court, after Christmas, in time for the start of the Pac-12 season.”

  1. Jeff or anyone else who knows, I have heard nothing about Christian Behrens since early November. Is he injured or just not ready talent-wise to contribute?

  2. Injured (I’m almost 100% certain). He has yet to suit up for a game. Looks like a red shirt.

  3. Steve-

What about your positive PR campaign that will magically boost recruiting? I thought it was your sure fire way to help Monty get that 7-3 center you’ve been demanding!

Great game from The Bears without key players.

    We can take UNLV.
