Basketball: Brandon Smith back at practice

Junior guard Brandon Smith was back at practice today after missing Sunday’s game at Oregon and Tuesday’s practice because of a concussion. Barring a setback, he figures to be available Thursday night when the Bears (13-4, 3-1 Pac-12) face Colorado (11-4, 3-0) at Haas Pavilion.

Coach Mike Montgomery said Wednesday morning he had expected Smith to be ready Tuesday, but┬áSmith still was experiencing headache symptoms after his hard fall to the floor in the final minute of Thursday’s game at Oregon State.

Good to have him feeling better. Hopefully soon Brandon will be at peace with his new, diminished role on the team. If he were to relax, we ought to see Brandon playing as well as or better than he did last year. Unfortunately that has not been the case so far this year. We will be a better team when Brandon plays to his capabilities.

he just needs to cut out the turn overs

We need Brandon to give us production off the bench. To be a championship team he has to do more. Same can be said of all guys come in off the bench but Smith has been a starter and done some good things in big games. Need that guy to be a leader off the bench.
Jeff, how is Rossi looking? Any chance he starts to play? Be great to have another tall sniper from the outside for when Crabbe is off or needs a rest.
