Football: Livermore’s Drew re-commits to Bears

Livermore HS three-star prospect Damariay Drew tweeted that he has re-committed to Cal. He told Rivals.com his recruitment is over.
Drew took a trip to Washington and has decided against trying to reschedule a visit to Oregon after a Sunday night home visit from Jeff Tedford that he said went well. Drew re-opened his recruitment a couple weeks ago, but said he now feels certain about Cal.
Drew rushed for 1,291 yards and 17 touchdowns last fall, but also plays defense and is being recruited as an athlete.

Howard and tedford hit the east bay yesterday. In addition to drew they visited armstead.
Gould and chandler hit socal. Met up with treggs and chris harper.

I have this feeling that the two new coaches are going to pay positive dividends down the road. We may lose one or two due to the timing of the departure of Benedict Lupoi and his sidekick, but it is my gut feeling that these two additions will win big recruiting battles in the not so distant future. Go Bears!

Drew is a very good football player. He is the type of talent we had throughout the program when we were really good from 02-06. If the Bears continue to bring in players as versatile and hungry as Drew we’ll be doing great.
Fired up another local stud is part of this class.
Can’t wait for LOI day. Will be a great day.

You know what’s weird. Drew never uncommitted from Cal. So I’m not sure why everyone ran with this story.
He originally gave a silent verbal to Cal. One site published the news (when they weren’t supposed to). And now his commitment is public.
It’s not like he said he uncommitted after Tosh / Keisau. Sort of weird, but whatevers.
