Our annual “Cream of the Crop” football recruiting package runs in Sunday’s papers, and for only the third time in 30 years Cal has landed as many as six of the Bay Area’s top 20 prospects.
If you can’t get enough about high school recruiting, with signing day arriving on Wednesday, you’ll want to read this and probably pick up a copy of the paperĀ on Sunday.
Here is staff writer Ben Enos’ main story.
Check out the top-20 capsules, Mike Lefkow’s story on the all-time “Cream of the Crop” team, and a checklist of every player named to the team the past 30 years.

FYI – Little has been made of Tagaloa having been C for Salesian’s basketball team all four years, I believe. Do we know if he will be playing for Monty as well?

Juancho — For most of the past 30 years, “Cream of the Crop” included only players from East Bay high schools. It has been expanded as our newspaper chain did.

Oh okay. So it must have been only kids who also won this award when they were in high school. Thanks.

I was at Arik’s church at 3am with like seven other people. No announcement. I feel cheated. My home made Oski costume is soaking wet from the church’s sprinklers. Good thing, too, the police didn’t want the back of their car wet, so I was the one they let go.

Should we be starting the Jeff Faraudo Blog Bail Fund to bail out any brethren?

It could be worse than you imagine. All the cops were in shiny new gear. Even the batons had swooshes on them, leaving a wicked inverted swoosh on my Oski mask. If that church ends up with new everything, it will be time to audit Uncle Phil.

Maybe we should all take classes and learn to give Tattoes. Then we could really be people of influence to these kids.

Looks like Marvin caught one ball yesterday, but for one of the few touchdown passes. Way to go MJ! I sure wish we’d have utilized him more this season, his ability to catch a tough ball and get his foot down are incredible. I’m sure he’s gonna do well!
