The numerous fast breaks were very entertaining. What’s with the pink shoes…?

Jorge was very active, as usual; I can’t believe how many times he was the one coming down with the ball on the defensive end.

I thought Brandon had a really solid game, handing the ball confidently. It’s nice to have him come in for either Jorge or Justin. Next year, I can see him starting at point again, with Justin as taking over in Jorge’s role.

We’re going to need a heck of a guard and a heck of a big man to step in immediately if we’re going to make a deep ncaa run next year. Here’s hoping for the best.

I think this basketball program is going to be even better next year. Monty is doing it the right way. Expect us to get a serious recruit or two in the spring signing period. We can win the Pac this year and next make a serious ncaa run.
Loving the hoops team and can’t wait to be at Haas for the gold out Thursday!

I should add that, while Kamp did well on shooting his medium range jumper last night, I still miss him playing with his back to the basket. He’s REALLY GOOD at the doing that. And I loved the way he was sweeping the boards last night. We will really miss him and Jorge next year. Two Cal basketball greats.

Still think we have an excellent shot at winning one game in the NCAA’s this year. With Soloman we would have had an excellent shot at winning two.

I went to the game and was really surprised how well Christian Behrens played. I think he could help us at the end of the season if he gets decent playing time before then. We need some more help up front. Stanford whittled a nine point lead to going ahead by 1 at the half because Kamp was sitting on the bench with, I believe, three fouls at that point. Behrens is big enough (6’8″), moves well, and can rebound. I think he’s better than Bak Bak now and could eventually move past Thurman.

I’ve whined about this before, but can could have been VERY good by the end of the year if Soloman had stayed eligible. Monty needs to figure out how to offset that loss and Behrens could be a good partial answer. I think we need a four man rotation up front (with Kamp and Kravish getting most of the minutes), rather than the three that have used since Soloman left.

“We can sweep these guys,” is the feeling that the team must be thinking to themselves after last night’s win. Stanford does not seem to have a go-to-guy and it showed in the flow of last night’s game. Crabbe and Kamp were once again tough on the boards. With a minute or so to go in the game, we were up by 10 in the rebounding column. Nice!

Thursday is the Big Game! We win that one, then smoke ASU as we should, there will finally be some separation between our Bears and whoever can hang, in all likelihood, U of W. Go BEARS! BEAT U OF A & ASU WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!
