Football: Ex-Bear Rodgers wins NFL’s MVP

Former Cal star Aaron Rodgers was a runaway winner of the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award. Here’s the story.

Well deserved. Add to the fact Rodgers’ running ability, and it shouldn’t have been a close debate. It is unfortunate that GB lost early in the play-offs, but the Giants in many ways lucked into the win, given the drops (Finley cost himself millions given it is a contract year) and the extraordinary bad defense, even for the Packers.

Imagine if DeSean were to sign with GB and Rodgers finally had a deep threat?

  • Derek

    like a boss

  • SteveNTEXAS

Rodgers won with a poor running game and poor pass protection. He also didn’t run up the score like some others.

Too bad he couldn’t convince GB Management to acquire marshawn Lynch – if he had wed’ be watching both of them and Desmond Bishop tonight.

Aaron Rodgers is the reason we still are subjected to Tedford. His NATURAL ability was credited to jt, erroneously. Now look at where ARodg is vs where jt is. Who has talent and who doesn’t?

  • Suttree

LOL canny to not use Tedfraud but the caps use gives you away…

  • MoreNCsarecoming

HAHAHA Costa asked Rogers what coach had the greatest effect upon him and he said Tom Clemens from Notre Dame. Then he asked him about Tedford and he didn’t say a whole lot.

Good luck at 5-7 next year losers.

  • Will

MoreNCS_are_ignored and sanctioned! troll post blocked

And guess who wins the MVP of the pathetic lowlifes???

  • abe

the packers failed this season because they failed to address their biggest issues coming into the season, and that is their utter lack of pass rush. they got away with it last year because of Jenkins inside, except they decided to lose him to the eagles in free agency while not bringing someone else this year, thereby transforming an already questionable pass rush (with Jenkins) into an atrocious one. that was an uncharacteristic mistake for an organization that has made a name for itself for being a master at roster building and it cost home boy Rogers a ring. this was their year.

  • Suttree

Didn’t say a whole lot about Tedford except to compliment him and say he was an influence? LOL fing troll…

  • Easy Ed

Carson Palmer? Reggie Bush? Matt Leinhert? Any league MVPs amongst that group?

  • Steve W

Aaron Rodgers was interviewed by Bob Costas before the game yesterday and was asked what separated Tom Brady from the rest of the quarterbacks in the NFL. Rodgers said that Brady was better than anyone at looking off defenders with his eyes and making subtle moves in the pocket to get free from defenders and make the key throws. I think that Rodgers was speaking metaphorically about himself, because those are his strengths as well. You could see them early on in his career at Cal.

Everyone is raving about Kline as the next savior at Cal. He can have the biggest arm in the world a la Kyle Boller, but unless he possesses those two qualities he just going to be another Hinder or Bridgford in the Tedford system.

  • Suttree

Uhh Hinder is known for movement and awareness, not arm strength.

  • Juancho

The main thing you always hear said about Kline is his awareness and accuracy.

Gunner Kiehl is the top rated QB over Kline – because according to some folks Kline doesn’t have that archetypal rocket arm, a la Boller.

    Let’s hope for the best.

The reality is Tedford has not successfully developed a single high school recruit QB at Cal. Let’s hope that changes now with Kline. If not, then it’s not fixable with Tedford.

  • BlueNGold

HAHAHAHA good luck at being a loser for life, troll.

  • Will

I also think the fact that his name is Gunner gives him an edge for the #1 spot.

  • ScottyBear

The most recent edition of ESPN magazine predicts Zach Kline as the Davey O’Brien winner in 2015. Has his picture among the predicted Heisman, Doak Walker and other winners. Pretty cool. Definitely, most definitely Kline comes in with more potential and regard thatn anyoner else we have or have had in the recent past. Up to Tedford to let this kid play!

  • Juancho

Will – that’s a fact. If I ever have sons I’m naming them bad ass names just in case.

    Maximus, Titan, Ace, Bolt, etc.

Thanks for that info Scotty. I think the pressure will be massive for Tedford to get Kline on the field if Maynard struggles this year. I will continue to stand by my belief that the pressure to play Kline will be unlike anything we’ve seen at Cal in the Tedford era. It’s partially to do with Rodgers’ success. In our hearts we dream that Kline is a Rodgers type guy. Which is unfair on the kid.

But then again, I’m sure he wants it that way too. Since he has admitted to growing up idolizing Rodgers. That makes you feel old doesn’t it?

  • Dan

Hey Moren- you don’t troll around here because we’re losers. You’re the sad pathetic kid hanging around the fringes of the popular kids hoping to be accepted and liked. When you were rejected by Cal you realized that your mission in life is to cowardly troll Cal blogs and be an idget. Congrats! You are successfully living your dream – as a loser.

So pathetic are you is the fact you were both banned and laughed off the websites of the school you claim, $C. They don’t want you, neither do we. But go ahead and keep posting your inane ramblings. Just stay in the dark closet, far enough from any real human interaction.

  • Will

Dan, you can’t blame Moren…when your mom abandons you like that…you’re going to have some issues.

  • rollonubears

Actually, the only negative I’ve ever heard about kline is his accuracy. And that’s kind of the most important thing. Just have to wait and see. He’s a smart kid. Don’t rule him out next year.

  • ScottyBear

In the three times I have seen Kline play it was his accuracy that stood out more than anything. His O-line was not that good and he was consistently under pressure, yet he made all his throws going both left and right, deep and short, timing and zip routes. He is a bit cocky and you gota love his hair. Reminded me of Pawlawski.

Some of you liberal fans may not like this, but he and his teammates are staunch conservatives. After Bin Laden was taken out Kline wore an American flag belt buckle to class and supposedly his teacher wanted it removed. Kline supposedly replied he was wearing the buckle in memory of all the thousands of people Bin Laden wasted. Go Bears!

  • Juancho

If he wins and takes us to a rose bowl I don’t care what party he votes for. Matter of fact even if he loses I don’t care what party he votes for.

I’m not surprised a kid who grew up in Danville is conservative. That’s a nice little rich town.

Did ESPN magazine happen to name the Cal coach in 2015. I’m completely done with Tedfraud.
