Cal baseball, coming off a season that featured remarkable lows (announced axing of the program) and highs (a College World Series appearance), will hold a free Fan Fest on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

The event will be held weather-permitting, but the forecast at this point is favorable for Saturday.

The Bears will hold a scrimmage at 1 p.m. The morning session includes the opportunity to meet the players, get autographs and take photos.

Really good news that Justin Jones was able to throw to live hitters finally.

That poor guy threw something like 3 days in a row last year to help get Cal to the college world series.

That stuff is scary when all of a sudden “something isn’t right” in a pitcher’s arm.

Jones has the talent to be a top of the rotation guy in the pros. Young and lefty, and moxy for days on the hill. I’d say him and Renda are my favorite guys on the squad.

Renda is an absolute savage at the plate. And if I’m not mistaken I think Renda holds quite a few high school hitting records in California. I believe he went to Serra High ?
