Women’s basketball: Bears buried by Stanford

The second-ranked Stanford women (28-1, 18-0) closed the Pac-12 regular season with an 86-61 rout of  Cal (22-8, 13-5) at Haas Pavilion.

The Cardinal outscored Cal 24-3 from the 3-point line and 24-10 at the free throw line on the way to its 75th consecutive victory over Pac-12 opposition. Stanford has won 12 straight conference titles.

Gennifer Brandon scored 11 points for Cal and Eliza Pierre had 10.

Cal, the No. 2 seed in the Pac-12 tournament, opens Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Galen Center against the winner of Wednesday’s game between No. 7 Utah and No. 10 Colorado.
