Basketball: Another honor for Gutierrez

Jorge Gutierrez was named to the US Basketball Writers Association’s District IX team. The team encompasses players from California, Oregon. Washington, Hawaii, Arizona and Alaska.
Long Beach State guard Casper Ware was named Player of the Year for District IX. Steve Fisher of San Diego State was voted Coach of the Year.
The remainder of the first team: Jared Cunningham, Oregon State; Matthew Dellavedova, Saint Mary’s College; Kyle Fogg, Arizona; Jamaal Franklin, San Diego State; Orlando Johnson, UC Santa Barbara; Brock Motum, Washington State; Terrence Ross, Washington; Tony Wroten, Washington.

Jorge I hope you get better each year and have a great NBA Career. My guess is you could also star for Mexico in the Olympics if you so desire -that would be a lot of fun.
I thought Tom Crean deserved coach of the year. He took Indiana from the texting mess to a team who beat the #1,#2 and number 5 teams all in one season.

Congrats to Jorge, a player with tremendous passion.
I hope he can relax now and play his game. He and his teammates must be on the same page all playing as one to win this tournament.
