Football: Marin QB prospect commits to Cal

Jared Goff, a junior quarterback at Marin Catholic HS, gave Cal a verbal commitment on Friday.
Goff, who passed for 3,179 yards and 44 touchdowns last fall, cannot formalize his commitment until signing a letter of intent nexy February.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder is listed as a four-star prospect by Scout.com. Scout ranks Goff as the nation’s No. 19 QB in the class of 2013.

Awesome! I’ve seen him play in person and he’s a tremendous prospect and comes from a great high school program. He’ll come in with less fanfare than Kline but has a huge upside with his physical tools.

Jared is a tremendous prospect with a great head on his shoulders.
Very excited that he wants to be a Bear and lead this recruiting class.
