The Cardinal did its part, but Washington was unable to complete an all-Pac-12 matchup in Thursday’s NIT title game . . .
– Stanford 74, UMass 64: Sophomore Anthony Brown scored a season-high 18 points and senior Josh Owens had 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Cardinal (25-11) advanced to the NIT final for the first time since winning the event in 1991.
– Minnesota 68, Washington 67: The top-seeded Huskies (24-11) rallied from a 12-point halftime hole, tying the score on a steal and a basket by C.J. Wilcox with 19 seconds left in regulation, but fell to the Gophers (23-14) in overtime. Terrence Ross scored 21 points for UW but shot just 7 for 19. The Huskies shot 37 percent as a team.

Go Furd! I’ll root for any PAC-12 team except for Washington.

When it comes to b-ball, I’ll root for any Pac-12 team to succeed against OOC competition, so I hope Furd wins the NIT and WSU wins the CBI. Football is different – can never root for Furd or U$C.
