Softball: Bears sweep 2 from Utes, now 9-0 in Pac

Top-ranked Cal (36-1, 9-0 in Pac-12) stayed alone atop the conference standings after beating Utah 11-3 in five innings and 12-3 in six innings at Salt Lake City. The Bears outscored the Utes (23-12, 0-6) by a combined total of 33-6 in three games.

In the opener, Valerie Arioto slugged her conference-leading 16th home run of the season, and Jace Williams, Deana Kostreba, Danielle Henderson and Jolene Henderson also homered. Arioto allowed just three hits while improving to 16-0 on the season.

In the nightcap, Ashley Decker, Kostreba and Danielle Henderson homered for the Bears and Jolene Henderson struck out six in six innings to improve to 20-1.

    No one seems too interested in this on here but that record is better than Kentucky had in Basketball.
