Softball: Bears rout Broncos, now 40-2

The top-ranked Cal women’s softball team stepped outside the Pac-12 and toppled Santa Clara 10-2 in five innings to win its 40th game of the season.

Senior Valerie Arioto struck out 13 in five innings and improved to 18-1, while going 2 for 3 with two RBI. Danielle Henderson hit her 13th home run, a three-run shot in the first inning, and Lindsey Ziegenhirt clubbed her first homer of the season.
