Takeoff – yeah, the height is a big difference. Can’t change that. If Jorge can become a better outside shooter, with his hustle and defense, he could probably hange with shooting guards. Remember, Kidd was not a great 3-pointer shooter in college with that flat shot of his, and is now one of the all time leaders in three pointers.

Bowen is 6’7″ and a much better 3 point shooter.

Hard for Jorge to compete there.

On the other hand, Bowen is a dirty player and Jorge is the man.

I think Jorge can easily compete in European leagues – Croatia, Italy, Greece, Russia, or Spain. If he can learn to make consistent jump shots, he can become a niche player in the NBA. Heck Bruce Bowen made a nice career as a defensive specialist.

I’m not so sure spaniards would go ape over a mexican player. I tried speaking mexican spanish in madrid and was nearly run out of town.

Jorge should go and become a legend in the spanish league – I think they’d go apesheet for him over there. And I agree, he is a tad too short and a tad lacking in the FG% dept. to be an nba player. I hope I am wrong about that, but I think its the truth.
AND, I really want to watch him play in Europe next year during my upcoming honeymoon!! VIVA JORGE!

This guy put a lot of smiles on my face. Played an integral role coming off the bench with the 2010 conference champions; willed his style on his team his junior year, leading a bunch of youngsters to a competitive finish in conference; and just this past year, won Player of the Year honors for the conference and ended his career without any blemishes with the law, coaching staff, media or CAL fans. Jorge will make money on basketball while he has the ability to play D at a high level. He can easily play in Europe or the middle east for several years and contribute.

i hope an NBA team is willing to take a chance but Denver is his ‘hometown’ area and it may be just to get fans paying attention to the summer league.

i was excited about the Spurs possibility but he’s just too short to be a D specialist at this level.

Hope i’m wrong and Jorge is good at proving people wrong.
