A new wide receiver commited to Cal, and he mentioned Wes Chandler in the article. This shuts me up some. In a comment on a previous post I mentioned how underwhelmed I’ve been with Chandler and Howard in terms of them not making much noise on the recruiting front.
This is a start at least for Chandler. Time for Howard to step up. We missed on a lot of the elite guys this year. Tedford better not let his staff think that’s acceptable moving forward. Tosh leaving gives them a little leigh-way, but not after this class. The 2014 class has to start being relevant with the elite guys again or else we might as well look for a more inexpensive coach and staff and be okay with mediocrity.

New Cal receivers coach Wes Chandler played a big role in Richardson’s sommitment, as well.
“I talk to Coach Wes all the time,” said Richardson. “He’s one of the main reasons I like Cal, too.
“He’s always straightforward and has a lot of knowledge and is a great coach. He has a lot of NFL experience and he knows what he’s talking about and what it takes to get to the next level.
