Columnist Monte Poole on continued missteps of ex-Cal stars Jason Kidd, Marshawn Lynch

This isn’t the first time we’ve read about former Cal stars and East Bay natives Jason Kidd and Marshawn Lynch committing a turnover away from the playing field.

Columnist Monte Poole wonders how it continues to happen and how these two will once more rehabilitate their reputations.

Finally, a sportswriter with some courage. Nice going. It should be read.

MoreNCS_are_ignored and sanctioned! troll post blocked

LOL I can’t see the timestamps on these posts, but I’m willing to bet that he posted within 20 minutes of this article going up. Seems like he’s the first poster on all things negative about Cal. All this does is prove what a sad, pathetic existence he lives…HAHAHAHAAHA

You know, driving will drunk is bad. But it’s not like it’s murder.

I bet we all know people who have gotten DUIs or DWIs. It’s a bad thing. But it’s usually a mistake made when one isn’t in a proper state of mind.

I think for Kidd the situation he had where he beat his wife is far worse than this.

Gees…and murder isn’t as bad as murder + rape and murder + rape isn’t as bad a genocide.

Since when do you start making comparisons. One of our family friends was killed by a drunk driver. Isn’t that murder? Yes not being in a proper state of mind is exactly what he plead while the rest of us were at the cementary burying him while his wife and three children under 11 were there. That’s all the more reason why people need to be busted for this kind of endangerment which stems from narcissism.

  • heckyeah

We really shouldn’t be debating who has committed the greater evil here, but MoreNCsarecoming, you certainly aren’t helping the cause.

We Cal fans/alumni are disappointed in the actions of Marshawn Lynch & Jason Kidd. Get over it. Every program and it’s alumni have their shortcomings. As some of our colleagues were kind enough to point out, that includes USC.

Please change that to “Some of us Cal fans/alumni are disappointed…”.

Obviously not all are disappointed just as long as lame justification is made to marginalize drunken driving.

We all know that Lynch’s recent DUI isn’t his first. His first was in Buffalo when he hit that girl with his car and sped off without stopping. How do you say? Let’s beat it as fast as we can to a local hotel and crash before we are asked to blow for a DUI.

How many more will be allowed before he eventually kills someone?

  • heckyeah

Of COURSE MoreNCsarecoming, DUI’s should not be marginalized but following your previous posts on Cal-related articles, I seriously doubt that this is your biggest gripe. If it is, I welcome you to join a MADD campaign and raise awareness of consequences of drunk driving.

Just realize that due to your patterns/history, even with the greatest intentions, your words will fall on deaf ears here on this Cal sports blog.. or simply anger Cal fans. Again, not helping the cause.

JF: In case you thought the first post showing Moren’s hypocrisy was inappropriate (hence, the moderation), the above post was perfectly acceptable retort and there’s no reason for you not to approve it.

  • Will

Looks like my post required moderation due to the many links I posted. Let me try to make my point without the links:

    Dwayne Jarrett.
    Rey Maualuga.
    Simione Vehikite.

Where was the outrage when these guys were arrested for DUI, Moren? I see that you’ve posted on here three times, and unless you expressed the same type of outrage at these $C guys getting busted for the same thing, you’re just proving that you’re nothing but a hypocrite.

  • clonedoc

Fortunately JK and ML didn’t kill their ex-wives and ex-wives’ boyfriends. Fortunately they didn’t lead police on a high-speed freeway chase endangering countless numbers of lives in the process. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! LOL!!!!

  • Will

Love how Moren just shuts up when he can’t respond to clear proof that he’s a hypocrite. HAHA

Speaking of good journalism, Ron Kroichick, the SF Chron sportswriter wrote this about Andrew Luck who just signed a guaranteed 22 million dollar contract.

“As Bay Area fans know, Luck was an extraordinary, once-in-a-generation college quarterback. He was so ridiculously good, Cal alums occasionally made a point of watching Stanford games on television (guilty as charged), just to see Luck.”

But he reserved his best comment for later in the article. Here is what he said.

“Not many quarterbacks could level a defensive back in the open field, the way Luck steamrolled Cal’s Sean Cattouse in the 2010 Big Game.”

Thus, the derivation of the word “Cattoused!”, a word used affectionately whenever an opposing player gets trucked and whenever your team gets steamrolled by an opposing team (e.g. when USC lead 42-0 at halftime).

  • BlueNGold

moron, your pious indignation reeks of phoniness and a complete lack of credibility. Where was the outrage when that clown from the sleazy cheaters almost burned down a building, endangering the occupants, with his weed cigar? Are you giving him a pass because he claimed it was the ‘will of god’? LOL

  • Will

Did Moren acknowledge his hypocrisy at all in his post following my post? Based on what BlueNGold said, it doesn’t look like it.

This is why if you want to win arguments, you shouldn’t drop out of law school.

  • BlueNGold

Hey J Faraudo- moron posted that you lack courage. See post #1 above. Sort of like when it kept posting that J Okanes was a coward, then denied posting it. What a delusional clown.

  • MoreNCsarecoming

#15 – You remind of a poster named JanKOski. It was always attempting and in the lamest way to stir up trouble on this board. What a laughable joke he was because it never worked. Keep dreaming pal. I meant nothing of the sort about JF of which you state.

  • MoreNCsarecoming

Well look who apologized but what kind of lame apology was that? “I like to apologize for the negative attention resulting from my recent actions”. How about apologizing for your recent actions that could have endangered lives and not the media storm that followed your stupid selfish actions.

Of course being a Social Welfare student it is doubtful he can read or write. He probably just submitted a standard NFL apology.

  • BlueNGold

How about apologizing for being a trash talking troll for nine years with no sign of getting a life and letting your anger and resentment go?

P.S.- your earlier message did indeed accuse JF of lacking courage, just as you called JO a coward before that. Your continuing denials of same just confirm that you are at least delusional, if not wholly dishonest.
