Usual nonsense posts. We do not play more ‘cupcakes’ and looking at other teams OOC schedules shows that.

With 12 OOC games, 6 are tough games that should be against NCAA teams. Wisconsin, UNLV, Harvard, Creightion, 2 Anahiem games.

This is solid scheduling and better than recent years. Cal faces serious difficulty getting teams to come play at Haas since we usually win, especially East Coast teams who have little to gain by flying out. Props to Wisconsin for ‘bucking’ that trend.

So I know some people think NCAA scheduling means simply making a friendly phone call, but this schedule is certainly hard enough Cal and represents a great opportunity to get wins vs good teams.

Perhaps the current budget constraints are driving scheduling more California teams and fewer out of state games in the non conference season?

Creighton was good – at one time last year they were a top 3 point shooting team. Santa Barbara was not ranked in the top 100 so we don’t agree there. I think they were around 115.

Many top programs do play a couple of cupcakes, we play more of them. They will probably publish an SOS and we can better discern at that time.

If you look at most of the top programs, they too have some “cupcakes.” As per the list above, Santa Barbara was no cupcake. They were pretty damn good. Ever heard of Creighton? They’re good too….

Way too many cupcakes. Drake was ranked 139 on Sagarin, Pepperdine 269, Prairie View 325 umm I can’t seem to find CS Bakersfield maybe they meant Long Beach. I can’t seem to find UC Santa Barbara either they must have meant UCLA.
Wisconsin is the only good team although Harvard was decent last year.
