Football: Freshman Fletcher doesn’t make grade

Incoming freshman defensive back Willie Fletcher of Carson won’t be with the team or in school this year after failing to get through his summer bridge classes, coach Jeff Tedford confirmed Friday.

Fletcher must attend school elsewhere, presumably at a junior college, to become eligible, then could re-apply to Cal. He also could choose to attend school elsewhere.

A 6-foot-1, 185-pounder, Fletcher played at Orange Lutheran HS and Junipero Serra HS in southern California.

Will have more later.

Frustrating. There were a few guys Cal reached on in desperation when Tosh left. Fletcher. Raymond ford. And the defensive lineman whose name i forgot. All three wont be at Cal because of academics. The Tosh ripple continues.

Not wanting to jump on the bandwagon & push this negative thought downhill any faster… F**K Tosh!

Juan is correct about reaching on some players academically… and athletically.

Cal needs to look to the future, and not in its past. Excluding the week the Bears host UW I hope other Cal fans will join me in not bringing up “that guy who bolted under extremely scumbag circumstances.”

Any chance we can get his name removed from all of the Cal history books? rofl….
