In the long run 2 blowout losses to USC (very likely) and Ohio St. (probably) might be to the benefit on getting rid of Tedford and getting a new HC Cal desperately needs to end this malaise of mediocrity.

With that buy out there is no way Tedford gets fired this year in season. Not a chance in hell.

Jeff Tedford is a mediocre at best coach and Cal’s good talent cannot overcome the mush and garbage and lack of discipline and ingenuity coaching coming from the sidelines. I actually think Cal has some good assistants but the head man has got to go. He was above average .. back in 2004.

Look at today .. a 3 points lead more than halfway through the game against as creamy a cupcake as Cal could find. Good thing they didn’t schedule Sac. St – the bevy of mistakes would have cost them another ugly home loss.

Ohio St. 55 Cal 20 next week
USC 58 Cal 14 the week after. Hopefully that will finally shake some sense into the Cal AD to terminate Tedfraud.

I understand the negativity line, but breaking down the team and its place in the Pac 12 is part of the fun of following a college football team; the ups and downs come with the territory. Right now it appears we’re heading down. That’s life.

I’ll be in my $300 per year bench seat until I can’t make it up the hill.

Sadly, I agree. After watching ASU and UCLA tonight (who we play at home), I don’t see us favored to win another game this year.

Defense: What happened?

Offense: What is our identity? We’re not USC or Stanford (which is what JT wants to be) and we’re not the spread-you-out teams (OR,WSU,ASU,AZ).

Storm clouds are gathering (despite the perfect weather at Memorial the past two weeks).

That said, it serves nobody to whine about Tedford all season long, or posit counterfactuals about what we could’ve done last season (and, seriously, you’re suggesting after Tosh left we should’ve fired the head coach the *week before signing day*? Really? Wholesale coaching staff turnover would’ve “saved top recruits”?).

Barbour decided to give Tedford another year, so let’s live with it and judge the results at the end of the season. I’m fairly pessimistic about our chances to turn this thing around, but let’s all have enough dignity not to whine about it for 12 straight weeks.
