Football: No. 99 for No. 88

Ex-Cal two-sport star Tony Gonzalez caught his 99th career touchdown in the NFL on Sunday.
That ties the 35-year-old Atlanta Falcons tight end with old-school NFL legend Don Hutson for eighth on the all-time TD reception list, one behind Steve Largent and Tim Brown, each with 100.
Gonzalez had one of his most productive games in years with 13 catches for 123 yards and his fourth TD of the season in the Falcons’ 24-17 win over Washington.
Next on the all-time TD list among tight ends is the Chargers’ Antonio Gates with 76.
Gonzalez already is No. 2 all-time in receptions and No. 10 in receiving yardage — among all NFL receivers.
In a few years, he will have a new mailing address: Canton, Ohio.

My brother tutored him while at Cal. My favorite fake mexican, as a mexican.

RB – Lynch maybe at some point, but probably Chuck Muncie
WR – some guy named Wesley Walker
QB – Probably Rodgers, but Steve Bartkowski was no slouch in his career. And then there was Craig Morton, he won a Super Bowl. Ultimately, it will be Rodgers, I think.

I’m sorry, but I was at Cal when TG was a TE, and I distinctly remember him dropping about half the passes that were thrown to him. He was massive, and had good technique, but horrible hands. Those skills came after he was drafted. I wouldn’t call him our best TE, but certainly our most successful after his time here.

Horrible hands? <— wtf?

O Line – Juancho, how could you forget B De La Puente?
lb’s – Gary Plummer, Scott Fujita

…but HOF? Definitely TG and AR.
Namdi if he has a few more pro bowl years.
DeSean? doubt it
Bartkowski, Muncie and Walker all had pro bowl years but not HOF.

I remember Tony G. catching all kinds of passes and thinking “this guy will be in the NFL”.
In hindsight, No Sh!t…

You are correct wehofx. I forgot them.
I remember thinking tony g was going to be an nba star. To be honest i remember him more for bball than football at cal. But i was a kid.
