Reminds me of a great story about you-

Moron goes to the doctor complaining of a bright orange, um, personal part(s). The doctor is amazed, having never seen anything like it. Doc asks the Moron to describe his typical day. Moron says “well .. I lay around my basement all day naked, posting on Cal blogs. And I love it!”

I think he might be able to stay at 5-7 given that our AD calls him an “icon”. I think at 4 wins this is officially a meltdown and she would find a way to “spin” the story such that the icon is retiring or at a minimum, grooming his replacement for a year or two (at hopefully a negotiated reduced salary)

Look for Leach to do a repeat from the 2004 Holiday Bowl. I guarantee you that DL of yours will not put the same pressure on the WSU QB as they did against the pathetic pucla line.

Leach will stack the box with 8 to stop the run and force Maynard to beat them with his golden left arm.

WSU will strike fast, Tedford will abandon the run and the outcome of the game will fall on Maynard. He won’t disappoint.

WSU will pass over 50 times this game. Wilson will have his best game of the year and more than a few times he will kill you guys on 3rd down plays.

Look for the refs to also play a part in the outcome of this game but as usual it will be the heartless play of your team and coaching blunders which will leave you at the bottom of the Pac 12 North.

Let’s see how the Bears do in the Palouse before making any end of season predictions. I think the game on a undoubtedly freezing Saturday night in Eastern WA will go a long way in determining the ACTUAL character of this team. It is one thing to get fired up and deliver a beatdown to a rival at home in front of a homecoming crowd. It is quite another to play with the same intensity on the road in a refrigerator against a bad team…does Cal have a Hunter Pence to deliver the pregame “chat”? Go Bears!

Yes, he stays with 6-6 since that means a win over uo/OSU/stanford, which gives him 2 wins over top-25 teams this season, which makes up for the bad loss to Nevada.

Kind of a moot point right now though – there is still a loooooooong road to get there.

He needs AT LEAST 6 wins to stay put. It’s doable by beating WSU an Utah (teams they should beat) and beating UW and Stanfurd. I see losses against the Oregon schools as Mannion will be back by then (out 2 weeks).
