He actually apologized for the performance. Many have speculated/reported that Rodgers only left early because he expected to be the #1 pick with boyhood favorite the 49ers.

There is no reason to think he is anything other than closely connected to Cal, and Tedford.

And I will never forget it. It was when we played Chico State in basketball and he sat front row with a red Chico State shirt.

Something about him has always made me feel like he’s ashamed to have gone to Cal. Butte CC and his Chico roots always seem more prominent.
