I became a true Cal fan in 1985 when I went to my first game and watched Marc Hicks bust for 100 yards against Washington. That chant was already in the rotation amongst the student body. This is great lore,and there is no reason to believe it won’t be around for the next 100 years.

Ahmad was a four year starter during my time: not big, but quick and tough as nails and a really nice guy with a great smile.

Awesome tidbit about Anderson’s son, who attended Treeland, but never went to any of their games and instead came to all the CAL games. Classic. Still a poor college decision, but at least his football nards were in the right place.
